The first round of beta testing for Diablo IV has come to a close, leaving many players wondering if the game will surpass its predecessor. While there are still some issues that need to be addressed, a significant number of players have expressed their satisfaction with Blizzard’s upcoming release.
Despite the inconveniences (which, according to the developers, have been partially addressed in a new update), players have nothing but praise for the latest addition to the beloved franchise. Fans have been quick to point out that the campaign is far better than the entire story of Diablo III. The new installment has garnered such a following that the anticipation for its release has become almost unbearable for some.
Here are some examples of comments from Reddit:
“The game is fantastic, with an open world that is much better than what we had in ‘III.’ The MMO elements are in order and did not give me any problems. There is always something to do, and I never felt like I was wasting my time. Everything is great!” – Reklatzzzz.
“The game is much better than I expected. Honestly, I’m not even 25 yet, but I really enjoy playing the main campaign and side missions. I’m playing as a barbarian, and the skill tree seems solid, with plenty of options. The combat is smooth, and I love that it’s a cross-platform game. I can play on PC with my brother, who uses a PS5.” – Soppressata88.
“This is what Diablo III should have been.” – travtrav53.
“I like the music that plays in the background when I’m in town.” – SirSantosII.
“My overall impression is positive, better than Diablo III, but I haven’t played enough to fully evaluate it.” – Katoshi.
However, there are some downsides. Negative comments often mention the camera being too low and the inability to adjust the image scale, which partially obstructs the view. Players also complain about the repetitive nature of the locations, which become tedious quickly, and the poor animation.
Perhaps if Blizzard developers take community feedback into account and make appropriate improvements, there is a chance that the game will not only be successful from a commercial standpoint.
The next round of beta testing for Diablo IV, open to all players, will take place from March 24-26. The full version will be released on June 6, 2023, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
