Meet the Wizard: Diablo 4 Classes Overview

Games

If you’re looking for a character that can wield a mysterious energy to destroy enemies with various elements, then the wizard class is for you. This typical wise mage can incinerate foes with fire, freeze them to death, or turn them into a pile of ash with lightning. However, out of all the classes, the wizard may be the least favorite for some players, especially with the variation through the electrical abilities (which may be better revealed at about level 40). Despite this, the wizard is the easiest to level up, as players can throw a chain lightning bolt off the map, which ricochets quickly, killing everyone.

Class Features:

The wizard class has four characteristics that affect its abilities:

  • Strength – Increases armor score.
  • Intelligence – Increases ability damage and resistance to all elements.
  • Willpower – Increases the rate of basic resource replenishment, enhances the healing received, and increases suppressed damage.
  • Dexterity – Increases critical damage probability and evasion probability.

The main resource for using abilities is mana. It is regenerated by itself (by default 10 units per second in combat \ out of combat) and after the application of abilities with a certain variation of development. A character can use a two-handed staff or wand + “grimoire” as a weapon.

Using electrical abilities, the character gains access to a special mechanic called “Sparkling Energy Charge”. These are small spheres of lightning, with a certain chance of appearing after an X condition is met. Picking up the spheres gives the character charges that are automatically discharged into the nearest opponents / destructible objects.

Wizard Mechanic: Enchantment

The wizard mechanic is called “Enchantment” and opens at level 15 after completing a special quest. At level 30, a second cell opens. The mechanic allows players to give the selected ability (all except powerful ones) enchantments – a special effect. To do this, players need to open the ability panel and drag the desired option into one of the two boxes.

Overall, the wizard class may not be for everyone, but it offers unique abilities and mechanics that can be a fun and exciting addition to any player’s Diablo 4 experience.
