100 Thieves

A regular high school reunion will take place, plus one new face from afar.

Getting the gang back together! With a friend from down under.

The love of your life will return to you, despite your previously poor treatment of them.

Please do not send Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho to rot in Academy ever again.

Titles may not be what they seem; a count of 100 thieves may as well just be five.

This was not a good pun, but the fact that 100T are entering week 8 without a single roster change – despite struggling in clearly inopportune moments – suggests a safety net is in place.

Cloud9

A new hope isn’t only a Star Wars movie.

Stepping up in the off-season – and in Spring – where other teams have faltered, C9 are NA’s pride and joy.

Giving someone a second chance could prove fruitful.

Picking up Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen after his past two years on TSM was a tremendous gamble, but it has already paid dividends for NA’s most popular esports franchise.

Being careless with money is one thing, but don’t be afraid to splurge every now and again.

Seriously, the multi-million dollar acquisition of Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme has been more than worth it.

Counter Logic Gaming

A new acquaintance may not be what they seem.

I, too, was burned by the Lee “Crown” Min-ho experiment backfiring.

The return of an old friend brings great joy, but it might be too little too late to welcome them back.

Even boy genius Eugene “Pobelter” Park can’t pull you back from the brink – subsequently, no playoffs berth is in sight for the already pretty doomed CLG.

Without the bitter, the sweet isn’t quite as sweet.

Keep your focus on Summer.

Dignitas

Old acquaintances will re-appear, but be careful about how much faith you place in them.

I love this semi-retirement home, but damn if I’m not disappointed since Week 2 ended.

Spending money will bring immediate satisfaction but surely make you cry in the long term.

3-0 starts made all the cash flow seem worth it but even diamonds aren’t forever.

2019 was a year of tremendous growth for you and all involved. Don’t stress too hard about re-inventing yourself like everyone else!

Alternatively, burn down and disregard everything that made you a competitor back then and rebuild into.. Something.

Evil Geniuses

Somebody had a seemingly fruitful end to their 2019, but said fruit will only blossom after given time to grow.

This, of course, is a reference to EG’s pick up of multiple strong veteran talents, including former C9 superstar jungler and Summer MVP Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen. The team needed time to come together, however, and are still ironing out their inconsistencies.

If an individual complains about you being too aggressive or assertive, promptly silence them by being even moreso.

With highlight-reel worthy players in… most roles, EG are incredibly disrespectful at times – but they own it.

Perhaps consider taking lessons from a certain midlaner as to what the power of evil truly is.

This is a pun but also a cry for help because Daniele “Jiizuke” Di Mauro is anything but consistent.

FlyQuest

Trees are beneficial to the planet, the environment, and the children, but so much League of Legends gameplay.

This is the coolest sponsorship ever but AAAaaaAAA I wish this team had more highlights. They’re nice though, which is always good.

Your reliability is your strongest asset, so continue to do your best and people will eventually notice.

FLY are consistent where other teams are not, and reap the benefits of the discord prevalent in 80% of LCS teams by sitting neatly next to the top of the standings.

Silver is still a medal finish.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of their players on paper plus in-game play, FLY have next to no chance of ever getting higher than second or third in the LCS.

Golden Guardians

Black is the new blue, but gold is still… gold.

Both a jersey reference and the fact that this team is still… ehh.

Be aware that you will end up caring for a toucan for the foreseeable future, only to have it promptly fly away in week 7.

As much as I love Choi “Huhi” Jae-Hyun, and every other player that has been under the CLG banner at some point, part of my heart flew away alongside newly-roleswapped Yuri “Keith” Jew aka LE TOUCAN.

Turkish coffee is the best kind of coffee, and Turkish junglers are at least 3rd best.

Can “Closer” Çelik is smurfing even on a bottom-middle of the pack team. Enough said.

Immortals

Bonjour, c’est le horoscope.

North America’s French colony in the making, IMT are both tres magnifique and somewhat frustrating to watch.

You are stronger than you (or anyone else in the league) might think.

Considering we all had this team coming into 2020 around 8th place at best, credit to them for actually being… somewhat decent.

The Map isn’t only Dora The Explorer’s friend.

Paul “Soaz” Boyer has some of the best macro and rotation gameplay of any toplaner to ever touch League of Legends. Pair this with cerebral Jake “Xmithie” Puchero and it’s a recipe for success.

Team Liquid

Beware of Danes bearing gifts.

Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen NOOOOOOOO!

Stay focused and sharp or be in for a rude awakening.

U ok, Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng?

It’s lonely at the top, but you might not be lonely much longer.

Whether this is from the rest of the League improving or you falling off a cliff in terms of relevancy, we’ll find out soon enough.

TSM

All eyes are on you but that’s when you shine brightest.

I don’t even like TSM – lifelong CLG fan – but even I feel bad for the ire they draw from the community. Perhaps we can see NA’s most infamous organisation rise to the top again?

Forget about 2018 and 2019, 2020 is a chance for a new start.

Seriously, if you are a player or a fan just purge these years from your brain.
